2Cori’s vocation is his answer from God
Cori vision and dedication were the result of his own sister Amie, who drowned in a pond outside a home for disabled children where he was admitted after contracting spinal meningitis fatal. Amie was only eleven and Cori asked the question repeatedly, which was God at the moment. Such that Cori was then felt his question was answered with a vocation to compensate for all the pain and the pain he had felt for the death of his sister. She could acquire the work of God, help these young children who need hope, love and care in the last days of his life so they do not suffer the same fate.
When Cori worked as a maternity nurse, she was drawn to cases in which women delivered babies sick terminals. None of the other nurses at the hospital where she worked, wanted to, but felt a need from within to reach the anguish suffered by children who die in childbirth mothers. It was a subject so much that she started her own hospice for children dying, an organization called “Hope after loss’ in Sheboygan, which would help mothers whose babies had expired. She is helped by her daughters, one One is Emily, pictured below, which is just 14.
3A deep experience with the baby Emmalyn
In 2012, Cori herself suffered an episode of severe disease and an autoimmune disease, but did not prevent its resolution. She was introduced to a baby 2 weeks old she named Emmalyn. The baby’s brain had been damaged to the point of being a living plant responding only to painful stimuli. However, he took Cori had not done .; Emmalyn have died in a hospital blanket without a name and number only his bed.
lived fifty days Emmalyn beautiful becoming the ninth member of the family of Cori. He was given so much love and care for Cori and their children; and he was even taken out for walks and excursions. That fateful night when she began to deteriorate, the family took turns to cradle her.
Emmalyn died cradled near Cori, who sang with her “Jesus loves me”. Cori felt life escape of small baby out of her until she stopped breathing and no longer existed. Emmalyn not suffered the pain of the disease, or the struggle for oxygen, which just died softly hear the heartbeat of Cori. She was not alone !!
4After Emmalyn, a new baby named Charlie Came
Emmalyn death of Cori and her family touched so deeply that they decided to take in more babies. That’s when Charlie came into their lives in October 2014 when he was just 4 months old, diagnosed with brain damage and given two years of life. The boy was showered with attention from the family of Cori and was involved in every celebration of the family; both indoors and outdoors. Having lived his life, the child is in intensive care and had to be resuscitated ten times in 2015. As sad as it seems, but Cori has decided that they will not prolong his suffering and will not be using the machine AED in case you suffer an attack, she let him go.
5Cori loss is a sacrifice doing a little happy heart
Cori sees home as a hospice for children dying, a gift given by God. To be part of the lives of children who otherwise would be in charge of the household and his sister Amie … to give them the warmth of human love in the time of his own fatal suffering is more than I could have asked .
Cori admits it is painful for the whole family when children die, but even more heartbreaking is the fact that these children die alone, unwanted, lacking a soft touch in times of death. Although Cori suffers the pain of loss, which is their selfless sacrifice to know that such pain is also the instrument of unconditional love facilitates the suffering and gives comfort to a small child at the time of death.
