Dr. Caroline Leaf is an amazing Christian neuroscientist who is spreading the truth about the incredible power our mind on our body and life.

I love taking the books I read and extract my favorite 5-7 key ideas / views and action steps I have personally taken and implemented to improve my life and the life of those around me. This also gives you a great on the vision book to see if you would like to go deeper into it or not.

1. The science of thought

We have two minds: conscious and subconscious

Conscious:

  • Only consists of the thoughts that you are deliberately choosing to think.

Subconscious

  • When not consciously thinking (when your mind wanders, when reacting to situations without thinking, and when you are driving and realize you have zoned out) your subconscious is what is working and that driving on autopilot.

  • Perception is reality. all we are seeing is completely different life now filter based on our unique subconscious.
  • Whatever your reality is the reality of your subconscious. You do not become what you think, you become what you believe, and all beliefs are stored in the subconscious.
  • We want what is in our subconscious to be in line with the person we want to be-most times it is not.

Neuroplasticity is a new scientific discovery that shows that we can literally change our brains through our thoughts and decisions. We can create new neural connections and physically destroy old. We can connect out toxic beliefs, experiences, and thinking wire patterns and truths, good habits and thought patterns pending.

Neurogenesis means the creation of new brain cells. Every morning we have new cells that are waiting to be programmed to do what we are thinking! That is why it is so important to start your make full of positive thoughts, truths, writing, and vision.

Every thought we think is a physical structure in our brain. The more we think of something, rather than the structure grows. We have the power to choose what we think and therefore what we neural pathways in our brain that shape the way we view reality.

2. Thoughts change their genes and body: Epigenetic

Dr. Caroline Leaf explanins: “rest in the assurance that what God had power to do with your mind is more powerful and effective than any medication, no threat, no disease, neurological or any challenge.”

“research shows that 75-98% of all mental, physical and behavioral disease is caused by our thoughts life.”

Every thought we think is shaping changes in our DNA. We have countless variations of genes that can change or off depending on our thoughts and lifestyle. toxic thoughts go out DNA codes that lead to healing and activate genes that have and which may be predisposed to a disease or an illness. Positive thoughts genes that heal and cancel any “bad genes” that may have ignited.

Our genetic makeup is fluctuating per minute based on what we are thinking and choosing. toxic thoughts act as a signal that interrupts the expression of normal genes, health maintenance.

Epigenetic is a new scientific discovery proving that we can change our genetic expression. Our thoughts and our lifestyle control how our genes are expressed. Even if you have a “bad” gene or predisposition to something, your options to determine whether that gene is expressed or not!

3. Note: The choice and free will

can not control the events and circumstances of life, but we can control our reaction, and that reaction changes our brain, controls our genes, and determines our health.

He has given us a prefrontal cortex (which no other mammal has), that allows the incredible ability power step outside ourselves and observe or thought itself . It also allows us to take a position in and choose how we will respond through our thoughts and actions. We are in control, most people simply choose not to use it.

Free will is not an illusion. Our mind can, at any time, choose to think whatever you want.

4. The intentional thought and Focus

Multitasking actually damages the brain. Physically you can not focus on more than one thing at a time so that when multitasking is having to change from one thing to another very quickly, resulting in a poor activity in the brain and actually makes you worse at what you are trying to do.

When you take time to think deeply and concentrate on something, it will change the brain and creating new neural connections to make this a reality.

Most people do not practice to notice their own thoughts and therefore simply let it run all day and react to them. It takes practice to be able to stop and notice your thoughts and change them.

Default Mode Network: When you start to pray, dream, spend time in self-reflection, the default mode network of your brain lights up. The DMN allows creativity to exit, allowing you to see solutions to problems, come up with new ideas and realize what needs to change in your life.

The more time you spend on self-reflection and prayer, over DMV gets reinforce what the brain and improves mental, physical and spiritual function!

“When the activity stops and enters a targeting moiety, which goes far ahead of where it would have been if only used within the realms of a shift, shuffling, min consciously limited. This is what God meant when he said “be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10.

Basically, this is a scientific proof that when stress, anxiety, worry, sadness, anger or any situation that presents every day- is important to stop, breathe deeply and think self-reflect on what is going on and pray for what they will do, and let it go. This time has passed in a report of reflection, prayer and meditation allows areas of our brain to open that allows us to relive vision, direction and peace. without this time, our mind just run and run without seeing any solution.

5. How to rewire your mind

through neuroplasticity, have the power to wire beliefs, habits and ways of thinking in our brain. We also have the ability to unite thought out toxic, toxic habits, and past traumas.

Your unconscious is what you and your outlook on life is running. For ideas on your non-conscious, daily repetition 2-3 21-day cycles is needed.

If you are interested in changing a pattern of thought that have, or really believe a concept-simply can not think that once, or even 5 days and have it stick. You should think, focus and act on it every day for at least two months.

  2. Focus on one thought and one only 21-30 days in a row, every day for 5-10 minutes a day. Do not try to make multiple thoughts in once- it will not work. It has to be focused and intentional.
  3. I was thinking wiring toxic as wiring a new truth at the same time.
  4. By doing this, you are creating new neural pathways and the destruction of the old so you can have a new form of “default” to see that the problem instead of the toxic form that saw him anteriority.

What to do every day for 21-30 days:

  1. Identify the toxic thought, concern, or emotion. And the mindset or habit you want to collect.

  3. Replace with truth and thinking that the desire to: Identify a truth you want to replace the toxic thinking. So every day when that toxic thought appears, you replace it with the person you want to be and you want to believe the truth and live.
  4. Journal about what it will be like when free thinking is that toxic and when you have mastered that habit or way of thinking.

  6. September 3 shots during the day. Some people set alarms on their phones, I personally this right when I wake up, before lunch and before bed to make it easy to remember.
