According to a recent study by the University of Washington School of Medicine in St. Louis, published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, urinary tract infections are closely related to the food they eat. That is, molecules that are created during digestion with the acidity of urine significantly affect the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract.
When it comes to urinary tract infections, the most important thing is to drink large amounts of liquids in order to eliminate colonies of E. coli, the leading cause of urethra infections. Drinking herbal teas and juices, especially cranberry and cranberry juice is highly recommended in these cases. Blueberries and Cranberries contain substances which inhibit the binding of bacteria to the tissues of the bladder. Consuming unsweetened cranberry juice regularly helps reduce the risk of urinary tract infections.
However, increased fluid intake is not enough. Indeed, issues of diet because certain foods can only worsen the symptoms. Such foods are coffee and chocolate whose ingredients irritate the inflamed tissue.

Most of these are common foods that you probably have in your pantry right now – almond, white meat, oil pumpkin, beets, eggs, barley coffee, yogurt, coconut, nettle, green leafy vegetables, lentils, nuts, legumes, olive oil, carrots, nuts, trout, seeds, fresh cow cheese, rape, water.
FOOD is not recommended during IU
A number of common foods and drinks can irritate the bladder, and may worsen the symptoms of UTI – so you should stay away from them if you suffer from this condition. These include citrus fruits, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, vinegar, tomatoes, strawberries and sweetened carbonated drinks, among others. These contribute to the overgrowth of yeast and may exacerbate the condition.
Food to eat to prevent IU
To prevent the occurrence of urinary tract infections, it is important to eat lots of green vegetables and take two tablespoons of olive oil daily. You can also drink wine but only moderately (twice per week maximum).
