The human heart beats over two billion times in the average lifetime, and pumps about 100 million barrels of blood. If you are going to bring the vessels through which blood flows, and lay them out end to end, they would circle the world four times. Your cardiovascular symptom includes the heart, blood vessels and blood. Mechanically speaking, not only it carries blood but also hormones, enzymes, nutrients and other chemicals that your body needs. And as science is beginning to understand, it communicates with the brain.
Because this system is one of the dozen that are absolutely essential for their survival, protecting your heart is a primary consideration. Now, scientists are recommending a way natural to do that, coenzyme Q10 supplements. CoQ10 is a vitamin-like substance that many health experts believe is most effective in the treatment of high cholesterol and coronary artery disease drugs widely prescribed statins.
CoQ10 occurs naturally in every cell of your body. The body produces for energy, cell growth and health. an antioxidant “super” is considered as minimizing damage from free radicals and slows aging. It also helps in digestion of food, muscle strength and recovery activity, and reducing inflammation.
Statins have been used to treat dyslipidemia or high cholesterol, for almost three decades. Although effective in lowering cholesterol, that have a number of side effects observed. These include liver problems, diabetes and cognitive impairment. In addition, many health experts doubt that simply lowering cholesterol is the answer to cardiovascular problems.
A recent study published in The American Journal of Cardiology demonstrated the usefulness of coenzyme Q10 in the treatment of patients with high cholesterol and heart disease. Participants were divided into subgroups. One took ezetimibe, a drug designed to reduce plasma cholesterol levels. The second took CoQ10 in a nutraceutical combination. After 3 months, the subgroup Ezetimibe levels were unchanged, but patients in the CoQ10 group experienced positive changes. At that point, coenzyme Q10 was added to the Ezetimibe used by the first group, and when treatment is completed, the group had reached 72.5 percent of its therapeutic target. The only subgroup that took CoQ10 percent had success 100.
Other research has shown CoQ10 to be effective in the treatment of chronic heart failure, hypertension and endothelial dysfunction. It has been shown to be safe and well tolerated by patients. a very recent research, published in the journal PLoS One, shows CoQ10 significantly reduces cardiovascular mortality 10 years after the intervention. The study included 443 healthy elderly participants. During 4 years of the study, participants took selenium with CoQ10, an antioxidant whose level decreases with age. The follow-up study showed that the protective action of CoQ10 continued for 10 years after the original study of 4 years. Both men and women were part of this study.
CoQ10 is also beneficial in treating cancer, muscular dystrophy, periodontal disease, mitrochrondial myopathies and neurodegenerative diseases.
