How Yoga Changed Me

You probably have read many articles about how yoga / veganism / transfer to a new country, etc. “It changed my life”, this is not one of those stories.

Yoga did not change my life, I changed.

I’ve been practicing yoga since I was 16 years ( taught me even some school friends I knew ). 4 years ago started a new style of yoga, and revolutionized my quality of life. I was working in an unpleasant and stressful job. I found Bikram Yoga Rocket through a Groupon voucher and thought I would give it a try. I had never tried Bikram or a rocket, but I have practiced yoga for years so I thought it would be like.

Of all Yoga teachers Rocket I’ve taken classes, there are 2 that I think are the best in London, and I was lucky enough to meet one of them, Marcus Lord Veda when I took my first class . Daniela Olds quickly discovered not long after.

I started attending Bikram every night after work, I work until 20:45 and head to my class. Once I entered the studio, got on my mat, he stood still for the first time all day and listened to when the music started, everything from that day would slowly away from me. I was able to really let go of the day and focus on twisting a little more, or getting up in the Click. This happened almost automatically form naturally, do not force it, and I concentrated on breathing. And let’s be honest, considers how cracking my body would once could master contortionist.

After a month or so of classes every day, 4 during the weekend, I started noticing a change in my attitude in my life, work ( is only work ), friends ( appreciate how much joy they brought me ), but mostly. I’m a vegetarian, but I began to be concerned about what I was putting in my body, in my body, so I started to change my eating and beauty habits, I bought a smoothie maker ( pre-Nutri bullet madness ) and started making my own creations in my kitchen.

My life stayed the same, I was still in the nightmare work, still on my floor with the horrible neighbors, but I was happier. jump, jump and jump over the yoga room from work. If I took the class last night I did not get home until 22:40, and yet I’ve never slept better. I made my body happy as I still went out, stay up late drinking amaretto and coke and dancing until 3 am, but I feel I’ve done my happy soul with daily Bikram classes.

Yoga has changed me where I wanted to take more care of myself, inside and out, which had been neglected since moving to London. I wanted to take care of body and soul, and I found that through yoga .

Now I have left that job, London and the UK for sunnier climes in Turkey where I now teach yoga. I will never forget that first lesson when I was a sweaty mess confusing ordinary wearing leggings and non-standard Bikram Lululemon ( insert cry of disgust ). I also forget how I felt once had cooled, showered and left the studio. felt that for the first time since he had been in London who had taken care of myself one had given large doses of love through Bikram yoga rocket.
