FDA Says Walnuts Are Illegal Drugs

These nuts are eating are drugs! Well, according to the authorized agency of food and tyranny drug-related, or FDA, as they are also known, nuts could potentially be subject to a selection process specialized drug before being allowed on the market.

Diamond Foods, a food company that for a small group of farmers in California walnut began in 1912, learned the full effect of what the mandate would prososed for your business.

The main cause of concern the FDA has with Diamond Foods is promoting the health benefits of eating walnuts regularly. Obviously, this is something that the FDA did not approve. But why?

To be more specific, Diamond Foods said that nuts are a valuable source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are in reality. They also mentioned that these fatty acids have been shown to provide a number of health benefits, including reduced risk of certain cancers and heart disease. These relations have been accompanied by numerous articles and studies, dozens of which can be found in the National Library of Medicine. They all have a scientific backing, so it’s not like someone ripped claims from his back and printed on a package of walnut.

However, the FDA sent a letter Diamond Foods very delicate, personal, aggressive noting that:

Its products are walnut drugs … that can not be legally marketed in the United States without a new drug application approved.

The last thing this country needs is to classify natural and healthy foods like drugs. With the bad reputation around prescription drugs that have been carried out by the FDA, putting healthy foods in the same category it would not be more than an insult. After all, it does so the risk of ulcers or heart attacks with natural, organic fruits and vegetables – something that can not be said of a number of other products that labels the FDA as [“drugs”

Diamond Foods Despite being backed by evidence supporting the benefits of eating walnuts, the FDA said that their products were “misbranded.” Basically, the FDA did not like a company was promoting health claims that didn ‘t approve -. regardless of scientific support

Why is this a concern?

Well, it seems ridiculous that the FDA should be the maximum final authority over what is and is not good for you, especially with the amount of criticism they receive from some of its decisions. You will be surprised how often real threats to human health makes beyond them.

But even then, the agency Diamond Foods threatened with a possible “seizure” if they comply with the warnings that were proposed.

This is an actual excerpt from the letter he received Diamond Foods:

We have determined that the products walnut are promoted for conditions that cause them to be drugs because these products are intended for use in the prevention, mitigation and treatment of the disease … they are offered for diseases they are not amenable to self-diagnosis and treatment of people who are not medical professionals; Therefore, appropriate instructions may not be written so that a layperson can use these drugs safely for their intended purpose.

Can you imagine all packages of its next walnuts along with a set of instructions for the “use”? Since when natural foods are increasingly demanding that kind of regulation? While dangerously addictive drugs are doing in the market, nuts and healthy alternatives are being pressured into illogical demands that have no place in the field of organic food. Where will the FDA draw the line?
