Like Valerie, who ran magazine Dr. Dennis Gross ferulic + Retinol serum Wrinkle Recovery overnight ($ 88 in store) for us recently, this serum I approached with some caution. I have sensitive skin and a healthy respect for retinol-based products, assessment of its usefulness, but anxious not to overdo them. I was curious and a little trepidatious as to how you would in a month night duration of this test serum.
already use and like it Dr. Dennis Gross ferulic and fortifying neck Retinol Emulsion ($ 75 in store), but my neck seems to have rougher skin, harder than my expensive. So, I started with a cautious every two nights. Within a week, I realized that not only was the overnight in serum very soft, but I was waking up looking very very good. I got up every night and have used for the last four weeks both.
I’m getting compliments on my skin and I, personally, am appreciating better brightness, clarity and expression lines smoothed. I must point tBAT I have decreased my beloved Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel ($ 88 in store) for every two days in the interest of no more than exfoliant, as there are several alpha hydroxy acids in serum overnight.
In addition to retinol, retinyl palmitate is not a new combo and for me that is listed as retinyl palmitate polypeptide / carrot. Now retinyl palmitate is a controversial ingredient since, according to a report by the National Toxicology Program based on a one-year study in mice, it becomes cancerous in sunlight. Since I’m only using this product at night, I do not worry too much about this. I did further research on retinol palmitate polypeptide / carrot and found that is marketed under the name Vitazyme A-Plus. The company that makes said peptide “that reduces or eliminates the known toxicity of fat soluble vitamins.” Intriguing.
What I appreciate the DDG formulations is that there are plenty of antioxidants to supplement retinol. In addition to what is almost firm Dr. Gross ingredient, ferulic acid, niacinamide gets a place of honor and no ellagic acid and gallic acid, two antioxidants found in many plants.
I was especially pleased to find Silybum (silymarin). This is the active component in milk thistle, one of my favorite antioxidant plant extracts (I included in my Treatment Gel ). As I discovered in my opinion a more interesting potion called Difinsa , silymarin activates a protein that protects us from cancer and shoots sensors DNA damage induced by UVB and signals DNA repair ( source ). This is quite useful in a product containing retinol and retinyl palmitate.
They are not all the usual suspects in the conservation department, but overall, overnight Suero has a fantastic range good ingredients that make this a very effective treatment and highly recommended at night.
