do not have to be! And when a family is on a tight budget and still want to eat real, whole, nutritious food, they come season St. Patrick’s Day, cabbage is as cheap as it gets!
This week (and most likely next week) our local store will be selling cabbage for $ 0.14 per pound. And I think what I am all that. Col not only nutritious cooked in a lot of friendly fats, it tastes so good * * when cooked the right way. I usually use in soups or stir frys, and this is one of my favorites.
I grew with a Spanish version of cabbage rolls using saffron and other spices … and are so good. But this mother of 3 children under 5 years of age just do not have time to roll wrappin ‘! And we have a budget to enjoy saffron (if you do totally recommend! It tastes so good!).
