Lower prostate cancer risk by drinking pomegranate juice daily

With Father’s Day just around the corner, it is important that we discuss issues related to men’s health, including the number one problem of male health – prostate cancer. The pre-Father’s Day week is designated as the Week Men’s Health, so that discussions about the prostate and prostate cancer are generally more common in all this time.

Prostate cancer occurs when cells of the prostate – a gland that surrounds the neck of the bladder – grows abnormally and cancer develops . During this period of active surveillance, prostate cancer is closely monitored for any signs of progression.

The surgical approach to the management of prostate cancer is a prostatectomy . This is the removal of the prostate gland. Although it depends on the stage of cancer, men in the early stage of the disease will undergo radical prostatectomy, which is the removal of the entire prostate gland plus surrounding tissue.

Radiation therapy , on the other hand, involves the use of many types of X-rays to treat cancer with radiation exposure.

Hormone therapy , also known as therapy androgen deprivation (or ADT), it is also designed to stop the release of testosterone in order to prevent acts on cells prostate. Hormone therapy is increasingly used before, during or after local treatment. It has played a vital role in the advancement of men with prostate cancer.

Finally, chemotherapy it is the administration of drugs through the blood stream. This is designed to kill cancer cells that have spread from the prostate gland all the way to other parts of the body. There are many chemotherapies, and different combinations of the treatments described here.
Of course, there is no proven strategy to prevent prostate cancer completely. particular treatments, too, are not without their own side effects.
