Yesterday was the first Monday of October. You know what that means, right? It is important to know why it is celebrated and how they celebrate and the importance of this holiday.
growing up, I have the luck that was never a part of the culture or society that children should be seen and not heard. My parents encouraged us to do what we loved and not just sit in a corner and twiddle your thumbs. It seems as if the government had the same ideas as my parents did, and that is why they created a holiday around children, even though it is your health (which is very important).
The holiday was first enacted by Congress in 1928, but was not held for the first time until the following year, on May 1, 1929. If you noticed the years, the party is likely to earn more sense to you. Most jobs in that time came from mills and factories in the cities. Many children were working in workshops and factories at this time. Since no child labor laws of the time, they had to be created.
Let’s flash back to the 1920s Most people associate with fins, bathtub gin and parties. That was not always the case. In the first part of the decade, which is closely associated with long working hours, weekends and short minimum educational opportunities for children . It seemed that as soon as they could write their name, they could work in a factory. They were used to maneuver in small machines and enter adults were not able to get spaces. Children are often killed or injured lost limbs and other vital parts. People began to realize that children need to stop being injured and need more protection. This is possibly the start of Child Health Day.
Child welfare is important for everyone, or at least should be. Since they are our future presidents, CEO and vice presidents, we must take care of them when they are young so they can reach their full potential. Before Congress passes today, there was not much for the protection of children, especially in the workplace.
Fast forward to 2016 and celebrated on the first Monday of October. The president and the White House invites people from companies and organizations that are interested in the welfare of the child to pick up and learn about child welfare programs and how they can improve during the year. If this is important to you, then there are many ways you can help.
research societies. This can be in your local school or county wide or statewide organization. If you gather enough support can be recognized and invited to the White House to learn more about it. if not invited, even think about how much you can help your community just by telling them about Child Health Day .
I would write an article for your local newspaper and discuss what the holiday is about. Discuss child labor laws and how they occurred. Write about the terms that people use to work on and how far we have come as a society and how important it is to move forward instead of moving backward. Often history repeats itself, but to learn about it and educate people about it, we can find the way forward.
Go ahead, tell your children about the holiday as well. It is important for them to know about the Child Health Day. They need to know about how lucky they are to live in the century that do. They need to know about the conditions that their grandparents and great-grandparents grew up. I know about the history of my family, and it is important for your children know them.
Child Health Day is a day of learning and reflect and be grateful for how far we have come as a society. Do not take any of it for granted. We must continue to learn and grow as people and teaches us how this party
