One experiences a bad smell from the body when the bacteria breaks down sweat and the subsequent byproduct is body odor. This usually takes place on a regular basis.
While it is good to have a practical roll-on or deodorant, there are effective home remedies that can keep your armpits fresh all the time.
These are some of the home remedies you can try:
1. rose water
Natural astringent, rose water can reduce the size of the pores present in the skin, and this can subsequently decrease sweat production.
To use this: mix rose water with apple cider vinegar. Store this mixture in a bottle and spray on the armpits and other parts of the body when necessary.
2. Lavender oil
Lavender has antibacterial properties that can stop the growth of bad-smelling bacteria. Its essence emanates a mild fragrance. Add the oil to cornstarch and baking soda as they keep the skin dry, thus preventing the accumulation of bacteria.
Try applying this mixture daily to see a visible difference.
3. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has acidic properties that prevent the reproduction of bacteria, which in turn prevents body odor. Take some apple cider vinegar and apply it directly to the armpits and other parts of the body with a cotton ball. Alternatively, in half a cup of ACV, mix a cup of water and then use a deodorant.
Now, this may sound a little fun, but it works. Tea bags have tannins that keep skin dry and prevent sweat formation. Simply boil the water and add the tea bags. Pour this tea in your usual bathroom and immerse it for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat at least three times per week to see effective results.
