One of the main causes of deaths in recent years is cancer and there are many different types of cancer. In men and women lung cancer is the second most common cancer. Although symptoms and warning signs are slightly different in both sexes, so you should consult symptoms that are for sex.
This type of cancer is adenocarcinoma and extends on the outside of the lungs. Symptoms are less evident than in other types of lung cancer. The tumor can become large in many cases and can spread throughout the body before being detected.
Some of the first symptoms are:
- Back pain and shoulder;
- Shortness of breath during exercise;
- Once the cancer grows the following symptoms appear:

This type of cancer is very difficult to detect. It spreads to other parts of the body and can be observed only when it reaches the later stages. Symptoms can be felt in different parts of the body such as bone, liver, lymph nodes and adrenal glands, once so spread and cause other symptoms such as:
- The loss of muscle mass;
- Loss of appetite and unexplained weight loss;
- Blood clots;
- swelling of the face or neck;
- Memory loss;
- Bone fractures that are not caused by accidental injuries;
- Pain in the joints or bones.
Lung cancer in men
They develop squamous cell known as the small-cell carcinoma. It takes place in the central part of the lungs, close to the main airway (bronchi), resulting in obstruction of the air and giving rise to symptoms that are clearly related to lung cancer compared to the most commonly experienced by women.
These are some of the symptoms:
- repeated lung infections such as bronchitis or pneumonia;
- Chronic cough.
Symptoms of lung cancer in men obstruct the airway over the status of women, however, many studies suggest that men ignore the symptoms because smoking habits.
Symptoms of lung cancer may seem obvious, so it is very important not to ignore the warning signs. Moreover, it is important to reduce the risk of lung cancer at all costs and this includes smoking.
